We hope to have the initial roll-out of the Herp Law Resource Center Monday afternoon or evening, once we have gotten the basic Reptile Law Database functionality fleshed out.
The system, once populated, will contain a dbase of all known reptile law documents on the internet focusing on, to start with, the U.S. and Canada. The dbase will contain links to official documents at the international, federal, state(province), and down to the local level, cities, counties, towns, etc.. This dbase will be portable so that people wishing to add a reptile law search box to their web site may do so.
We have designed the system so that anyone that wants to help out, can, at any time, by putting in 5 or 10 minutes of research here and there. We know that there are lots of people that want to help and this will be a great opportunity. It won't take much time, it will help everyone with the current USF&W request, and in the end it will be a great long term resource for dealing with other issues as they arise.
Finally the Herp Law Resource Center will also see us launching online polling software to generate statistics about our users for use in our response to USF&W's current inquiry.
More updates to come~
