You said..."For a beginner, would you recommend a male or female Veiled?"...I would recommend a male. They live longer and you don't have to worry about egg problems.



You said..."I read that females need to be breeded or they become egg bound?"...this is a myth that won't go away. Egg binding is usually from poor husbandry (overfeeding, poor nutrition, inappropriate temperatures, etc.) but once in a while comes from physical problems (fused or deformed eggs, reproductive deformities or problems, etc.).
