I hesitated to show this guy off here, but I thought a few individuals might like to see this considering his genetics. He comes from a butter motley corn and a wide reverse striped cal king, so he should be heterozygous for motley (as well as caramel and amelanism). However, he appears to express a motley pattern unlike what I'd expect from a het. I know amelanism is allelic in cal kings and corns, so I'm wondering if some of the pattern mutations might also be compatible to some degree. I suppose it's possible he has aberrant pattern that just mimics motley circles, but I'd be surprised if that's the case considering the consistency of his pattern.



He does have a little ventral pattern, but it's reduced and considering he's only half corn I don't know if I should expect a totally clean venter from a homozygous motley or not. I intend to do some test crossing later on to try to figure out if he's a het or not, but I've got a long wait ahead of me for that. I'd be interested in other thoughts on the matter.
