However, he appears to express a motley pattern unlike what I'd expect from a het. I know amelanism is allelic in cal kings and corns, so I'm wondering if some of the pattern mutations might also be compatible to some degree. I suppose it's possible he has aberrant pattern that just mimics motley circles, but I'd be surprised if that's the case considering the consistency of his pattern.
