The man behind the map Gordon Dr. Rodda admits his maps have very little in the way of facts to support them. A rational process was used to derive the climate envelope is how he puts it. True it's rational but it's rational in the same way that science fiction books about giant meteors destroying the planet in 5 years are rational. There is a great difference between possibility and probability . Dr. Rodda`s maps are basically a science fiction piece being presented as truth. In his own words he didn't have much in the way of facts so he just made due. A look at how he made do by comparing Dr. Rodda`s own words.

"Keep in mind that Python molurus occurs in extremely arid areas of Pakistan (both the Lower Indus Valley and Upper Indus Valley, but not the middle Indus!)" Dr. Rodda

"There are some pretty big unknowns out there; for example, we have very little accurate information on the range of P. molurus in Pakistan or west central China." Dr Rodda

In the first he proclaims knowledge of molurus distribution over a broad region in Pakistan in the second he admits very little of it is accurate . So how did he draw the conclusion that Python molurus occurs in extremely arid areas of Pakistan ? I'm going to interject a little speculation of my own.

Dr Rodda came to his conclusion by looking at molurus range map in Pakistan and then comparing that to his Pakistan weather map. What he saw is that molurus is found n the Lower Indus Valley and Upper Indus Valley. True . It's also true that these regions don't get much in the way of rainfall . What he failed to take into account is that rain isn't the only way water gets introduced to an area. This region is full of rivers , tributaries , spring fed lakes not to mention for 200 hundred years large portions have been irrigated making it one the richest agricultural regions to be found. The only thing Dr Rodda saw were the numbers on the a paper.

A. Molurus in found in the Indus Valley .
B. The Indus Valley has hot temperatures and little rain fall
A B the pythons live in the desert !

This is the kind of blunt force lack of common sense that law makers are turning to for answers.
