The heat island effect formed around the cores of larger cities does produce measurably higher temps than the surround rural areas. NWS and NOAA weather stations are therefore located away from the main urban areas of larger cities and out around the outskirts in almost all cases for the very reason you stated. Also, good point you made about average winters in northern Alabama and Georgia, they would definitely be lethal to any burmese. | ||
