Be sure and let the tortoise emerge at his own rate. It can take up to 7-10 days but I've had them totally start trucking around after 2-3 days. If they still have a large yolk to absorb place a moistened paper towl in a small bowl and allow the tortoise to fully absorb the nutrient rich yolk in a confined environment.
