Hi Reed,
I'll try to answer this the best I can for you. Westerns are the most kept hognose and mostly because they have a pretty good reputation for being easy to keep. Westerns are usually pretty good eaters, you might hear some people have some problems with them in their youth, but I personally haven't ever had any. Easterns have a reputation for being somewhat difficult to get to eat and can't be fed an exclusive diet of rodents like a western can because of health problems. As far as temperament I think they are all pretty big babies. Sometimes they can be a bit moody but its all bluff. I'm not sure what a cb 70 equal out to exactly but I think that would be ok. I keep all my adults in 32 qt tubs and that is plenty. There are a good deal of morphs available but yet they aren't saturated in the market. Besides these snakes just being awesome in general, I love the fact that there is still the opportunity for people to work a lot with these snakes as far as morphs and patterns go. They aren't a real large snake, females being much larger than males, but my biggest female is something like 30 inches and 650 grams. I hope all this helps.
