My "accountant "friend" was amazed at the prices he saw on Kingsnake and at a local reptile store for ball python morphs. When he saw a spider ball priced at 5K a few years ago he asked if that was "real". I told him that they probably never get the full price. He said that even half of that and the volume that sells online is enough to catch the attention of any auditor. Regulation sucks but the greed of the herp industry will eventually lead to stronger regulation via required permits for interstate sales, maybe even intrastate sales. | ||
