With the pythons it seems like just a different step to take in the creation of that 'designer' morph. Those snakes couldn't be marketed as anything other than some kind of hybrid, same as the ball python x angolan, or the ball python x ...I think borneo short tailed python? Blood python? Something like that. They just don't look right, and no one would try to market them as anything other than what they are.
If you're looking for a cool snake, they'd be interesting additions, but since in this aspect of the python world we don't have the focus on localities and subspecies like other aspects of the reptile hobby does... Not too big a deal when it's a ball python cross.
I can see a big deal arising with different subspecies of pythons or boas being crossed and not looking much different (look at the boa constrictors!), but ball pythons are ball pythons are ball pythons.
