I go through hundreds of f/t rodents a month, and honestly I have never had a problem even similar to the one you have experienced. I heat them up in hot, not boiling water, and they always look as if they were freshly killed when I am done with them. I order from American Rodent currently.



Prekilled rodents are not an option for me. I feed pinky mice all the way to XXL Rats, and I have no longing to have to purchase and properly care for hundreds of rodents monthly, and then kill them one by one. I could see though having a smaller number of snakes may make prekilled a better option though.
