Although it's true rat bones do get digested, wood is a different thing all together. For whatever reason cellulose doesn't digest, unless you're a termite or a carpenter ant . Large amounts could be a problem, but a small bit will probably pass with the next poop no problem. I have a hard time ubderstanding how anything that has a pretty much straight gut gets bound up at all, but dehydration could play a big part in that I suppose. I've personally never had a snake get bound up from substrate, generally constipated yes, but not from substrate, and a warm soak usually fixes that. I wouldn't worry to much. Just my opinion.
