The article suggests to me that the owner voluntarily relinguished the reptiles. Perhaps he felt that he could not care for them because of the large number of animals. It did not mention anything about seizing them because they were illegal or dangerous. I think we need more information before lynching the SPCA for taking responsibility for these animals.
