Ah!! and to think someone suggested to me that clawed frogs were safe since they are aquatic, and they worked for hognoses.
Do you or anybody have any suggestionn for any non-mammal safe prey to feed to a western hognose. He has no responce to pinky, or responce to smell of lizard or split brain pinkie. I even tried the deli cup. I read that once you trigger these snakes to feed, they well begin the eating cycle again. I know so far, he responds quickly to the movement of hopping (tree frog didnt work, they jump and dissapear).
