Nice granite Nick. But then again all your granites are nice!
Working only with the P thalassinus for the last 8 years, I've
never had the opportunity to work with their cousin sub
species (P mearnsi). I'm curious if you find them nervous
because you don't mess with them or if it's due to them
being wc and flighty from the start? If cb I would be some
what surprised that they are so nervous.
Ninety nine percent of my thalassinus are cb and mostly
produced by me. I have introduced new blood lines through
the years for better/newer DNA though. Most of my cb
are really calm and pretty easy to handle but once in a blue
moon I do find one of those Nervous Nelly's so to speak.
Here's a photo I just took of one of my P thalassinus females
and as you can see she's presently in full blossom mode.
A few years ago I produced my first melanistic thalassinus
to the baja blue rock world. I dubbed this color phase the
"baja black rock lizard" and just last year I produced an
entire melanistic clutch from this dark phase female shown.
I'd love to see a better photo of the mearnsi if you should
get the opportunity.
