The veterinary medical college system is not set up like med schools. Basically, whatever state you have residency in determines which schools you can go to. For example, as a Florida resident, I can only get into UF (the only vet school in the state). UF's vet school has 80 slots, and holds 70 of them for residents of Florida. There are 10 slots for out-of-state applicants, but you have to be something pretty special to get one. For states that dont have vet schools they arrange for their residents to have access to a school in a nearby state. So unless you have excellent credentials, or have excellent credentials and can afford to go to a private vet school (like tufts) you have only one option.
Good luck to you, in my state, its harder to get in to vet school (1 of 5 applicants accepted) than it is to get in to med school (1 of 4 applicants accepted). I'm currently a senior bio major applying to vet school...crossing my fingers
