I hope these are all captive bred, and not adults ripped out of the wild!

As I said in the past, is not necessary to kill a toad in order to use it for scenting. The best scenting method I found that works the most consistently is to get a captive toad to bite on to the pinkie. For some reason, the saliva works better than any other method. Although I have had very good success with using shed skin.

Keeping live toads available for scenting also allows you to use the bait and switch method, described in a few posts below.
