Posted by: kinderman at Sun Apr 6 13:28:27 2008 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by kinderman ] I candle everything that is not clearly a slug. If it doesn't have veins -- I toss it. It is weird how the slugs show up. My first 5 clutches this year averaged 7 eggs with not one slug. My sixth, from a 2200 gram female -- 5 slugs and 1 perfect looking egg that when candled had NO veins. I am breeding females from 1200 grams to 3500. I am keeping records on my female weights, clutch size, and slugs/infertile eggs for my own continuing education. I'll post my results when hte results are in. There is MUCH to learn. Good Luck!!!!
