I have three hatchling sulcatas (less than one year). When I got them last fall, they were roughly the same size. Two of them were kept together, the third one in a separate cage. The two together ate like little hogs and have grown tremendously, but the one kept alone has not grown. He is active and eats the same food as the others, but I have been monitoring his weight, and he has not gained anything in months. (He is 40 grams, the other two are 175 and 200 grams.) Should I be concerned? Their diet is a combination of two commercial tortoise diets daily (Sulcata Gold and Monster Diet) with some leafy greens (dandelion, romaine) a few times a week. I also ordered dried desert grasses from TurtleStuff.com and sprinkle that over their commercial diet. I soak them weekly and put them in the sun once a week, in addition to heat lamp and UV lamp in their cage. Shells, eyes, etc. appear healthy.
