Hi all, I am not sure what is going on with my Caymanensis, Pete. I understand he is 8 yrs old now and the last couple of breeding seasons have been a bit annoying. I get that at 8 maybe he is getting serious about the breeding thing but his behavior this week has been really strange. I cant blame it on breeding as it looks like he is SCARED to death.

He acts like he is TERRIFIED of something. He jerks his head around like he sees things that arent there. He FREAKS if picked up. Like totally FREAKS to get away. This is a lizard that never truly minded being picked up. I am sure he didnt really care for it but he dealt with it gracefully and might struggle a bit but this is complete FREAKAZOID got to get away sort of freaking.

This is inside the house in the room he has always been in. Nothing has changed. I have wracked my brain on what might have changed in here or outside his windows. It is spring and there are buds on the trees. I swear nothing else is amiss. No weird noises. But he acts paranoid all the time.

I just dont understand. Has anyone else seen this behaviour?

Thanks,
Carole
