Hello all,
I discovered that one of my BPs has a small burn on her belly last night. I had measured her temp and it was getting mid-90's, but it must have gotten warmer these past few days (the temps have gone up about 15 degrees in the past week, it's nuts) and she just didn't move off of it. Of course I didn't think of that before she got burned. She looked pink two days ago and I just thought she was going into shed, but last night she was very sore and angry (she's never like that) and her belly just looks too pink to be shed. The scales seem to be irritated at this point. I am 98% sure it's a minor burn.

Anyway, I gave her a little soak and rubbed some neosporin on the burn... She's already on paper towels and I will be changing them daily and giving her more neosporin. I have plans to order some silvadene from the vet today.

My main question is if there is something else that I should be doing for her. I can take her into the vet, I don't have a problem with that at all, but if it's a real minor thing and I can save her the stress of a trip then I will do it.

Thank you.

-Jaime

p.s. I have lowered the dimmer so that the temps are back down in the low 90's, and will be sure to check her temps more often now. I have one of those probe thermometers.
