Uro's scarred skin

I recently acquired a rescued Mali Uro. He has been bitten by some animal and those bites are healing well. My question is, either as a result of the attack or from someone pulling off his shed, he has large areas of bare skin. His skin is not infected. But I am wondering how long (if ever) will it take to grow his scales back in these areas. I put triple antibiotic on his skin and injuries when I got him. I understand better now why we do not pull off the shed!! Anything I should do? Thank you for any information.
