If a female ovulates she'll produce eggs. I guess this is a common misconception, but the reproductive system contains no organs to digest or break down organic matter. Once follicles are moved into the oviducts, they continue on down the line. Whether fertile, infertile, no development, they still come out the poop shoot. Proper nesting is key, but you'll probably kill or mess up a few animals before you get it right. It is a learning curve, just one that is harsher than others.
