Congrats on the new kid.
I think one thing I would be concerned with is all the moving and transporting around just to get her fed.
The last thing you want to do is handle them or move them around too much right afer eating so they don't regurgitate as this can upset thier digestive tract and be the start of some big issues.
This is a great site to read and ask questions I'm sorry if you felt slammed.
Your snakes size is capable of much larger prey.
I think that was the point that was being made, what did they have her on before? Has she been given frozen/thawed?
I don't agree with the stunning being cruel any more so than being frozen or eaten alive. ( the frozen part I know about I lived in Michigan most of my life and fell through the ice once, friggin hurt like you wouldn't believe!!)
The fact is we have chosen to keep an animal that eats other animals.
When you love your animals you suddenly are willing to try some things you wouldn't have imagined such as putting a mouse in a plastic bag and whacking it against a hard surface. One good whack and it's done. It's not brain surgery... although you may find yourself one day exposing the brain of a rodent to get your snake to eat.
Take care and ask questions,
Raven's Mom
