this is my first time dealing with BP eggs. well, I had a human baby incubator that had a thermostat and non-thermostat setting, and to my surprise and horror I found out that the thermostat setting didn't work the day that 7 eggs were laid.

that means that I have to check on it, alot, and adjust the heating element. I've been spraying the sides with water to keep humidity above 75%.

I figured that my 4-hour a day job could be dealt with, along with waking up in the middle of the night to check, but sadly the temperature has swung from 87-95 degrees and humidity has been as low as 60%.

I noticed one egg start to yellow, and become rougher, so I figured it was just infertile. however, after a 2 hour trip today, I came back to notice that all but 2 eggs are seemingly starting the same process.

Is it possible that 5 out of 7 are infertile? or am I doing something horribly wrong and they're just going to die one by one?

I know I've dealt with husbandry wrong, so I'd like to not hear about that. I'm just trying to salvage what I have left of this project and save any eggs if I can. I can make a tub in my thermostat rack free and move the eggs in. I was just wondering if the process I desrcibe is usual infertile eggs withering away or the result of improper conditions
