So, you're out herping. You find a species that's protected in the state on some land you have permission to hunt in. You check the animal out, then release it.

The property owner strolls by.

"Did you find anything?"

"Sure did"

"If I find that snake, I'm gonna kill it."

"You cant, it's protected by the state"

"I dont care, it's on my property"



What do you do? Relocate the snake on the property to a place where it stands a better chance of getting away? Call the local wildlife folks and try to scare the old man?

or......*gasp* Bag the snake and take it a few miles away where you KNOW he wont find it. Now you're really stacking the odds because you're breaking the law, and risking the survivial of the snake anyway.



Hard choice to make if you ask me. The last option is real iffy since now the animal may die anyway from being displaced.
