Posted by: shiveley at Wed Apr 30 17:30:52 2008 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by shiveley ] My beloved chuckwalla "Chuck" whom I collected as a hatchling in 1994 during a field study in a remote region near Death Valley for San Jose State University has died. He was as "dog tame" as any reptile I've ever encountered. This was probably in part due to the fact that I hand-fed him for the first several months of his captivity. I raised him from a two-and-a-half inch hatchling, to a beautiful and boisterous adult. He was not only responsive, interactive, and engaging, but he was my friend. He shall be missed...
