Danielle,
.....Most female BRBs that are right at 6 feet long weigh more than 5 pounds. However, 5 pounds is good for a BRB that is just a few inches under 6 feet long. 3 pounds for a five(ish) foot male is fine. My yearlings that are 30 inches long weigh less than 200 grams. I bet yours that weighs 340 grams is actually closer to 36 inches. Guesstimating lengths accurately takes lots of practice. For several years I was obsessive about recording lengths and weights as my snakes grew and I weighed and measured them each time they shed. As a result of all that seemingly wasted effort I am now pretty good at guesstimating snake sizes. People generally underestimate the length of little snakes and overestimate the length of bigger snakes. The least accurate estimation seems to be when people guess the weight of BIG snakes. After handling a snake that weighs over 20 pounds people almost always greatly overestimate the weight. Several people who have seen my 51 pound Surinam guess that she weighs over 80 pounds.
