Posted by: phil bradley at Sun May 4 21:51:30 2008 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by phil bradley ] Thomas is correct that you cannot sell turtles and tortoises in NC but unless the vendor had a literal boatload of turtles under his tables there was no way it was $40,000 worth. They had a few Redfoot babies and a couple of Testudo (don't know which species). The animals weren't confiscated either, they simply had to remove them from the table. Every show there is a few tables who have animals that aren't legal to sell in NC, usually N Pinesnakes or Tiger Salamanders. Most folks are happy to get a heads up but some get pissy.
