Argus crosses laying eggs and eating ?

I found my female argus cross depositing eggs and than eating them by the time. Normally their is 1.2 housed together and noticed some differant behaivor in female protecting the cave nest site. Than 2 days later found only 2 eggs im thinking she ate the others. Is this something normal for argus to eat their eggs
