Well, let me just say that a 4 year old Egyptian should be much larger than that, my four year old male is 25 inches and 8 pounds.
That aside, a 20 is too small overall, I would give the biggest cage you can, I have a couple hatchlings that are about 9 inches or more and I keep them in 4 foot by 2 foot cages.
Crickets and other bugs are OK in small amounts, I offer my young egyptians about 10 small mealworms a week at most. I will stop feeding them at 1.5 years or so. Just don't over do the bugs.
