we just rescued a water dragon that was tore up from rubbing on glass cages and blind from substrate in his eye's and wasn't eating anything but crickets (the only food that made enough noise to hear where they were so he could eat em). after we got the substrate out from under his eye lids he started eating everything, giant meal worms and crickets and his favorite, once a week we've been giving him 2 pinkie mice. even after only having him 12 days he's already noticeably putting on weight, still way too skinny but doing much much better. pinkie mice are a real good way to put some weight on a lizard, just remember to cut back a lot once it starts getting to a normal size. most pet stores will carry live pinkie mice. our beardie wolfs them down in a second when we give her them as a treat, but be prepared for a mess, the water dragon seems to chomp on em pretty good before it swallows them.
