I can normaly get a pretty accurate measurement by using the string method, and it heilps if you have someone to assist you.

It depends how precise you need to be. I personally don't care if my boas are six feet or six feet two and three quarter inches. I find that using shed skin is very inaccurate because the skin stretches during the shedding process so don't use that method if you really need to be accurate. Hope this helps.
