I've had a 6' male Suriname and an adult female Ball python do this, sounded very strange, like a strong burping or coughing...with the mouth open...and forceful movement of the whole body...

It reminds me of dry heaves....

This happened during the winter when I was having trouble keeping the heat and humidity up in the cages of these two particular animals...once I got that fixed it went away.

I don't know what it is exactly, but I am certain the heat/humidity issue causes it...
