Hey Shawn,
Glad to see she came through fine. A few years ago we had a girl that had surgery and the vet put Liquid Bandaid on the suture line to help prevent infection and also to keep dirt and feces from getting in it. You might give your vet a shout and see what he thinks. I seemed to work very well for our girl. Our vet had me re-apply it every 3 or 4 days until she healed up.
