Six square foot of floorspace is a fair amount of room for most colubrids. However if you can give them more I'd go for it. If I could....hell I'd got for 6 foot caging. The bigger the better, I feel temperature gradients with a big difference from hot to cold is simply the best thing you can offer your snake. The room will also be great for confidence the animal is getting enough excersize.
