I'd lean more so toward an epigenetic alignment as opposed to an entire new gene interaction but perhaps you're right time will tell. Currently I'm raising up some out-crossed Calvert's of a few lineages. I'm curious to see the variance with them actually. As for the lighter or 'extreme'ish animals you're right we'll see in time.
