I think that the eggs need to be at a certain spot in their developement to be ferilized-they must be ovulating just like in humans. I think the female pictured below is way to late in the game for any fertilation to take place. She looks like she is ready to lay. The females know about when they are ready and they will become receptive. At other times they usually just have a headache. lol. They will just run and hide or give the male a few head bobs and a tail wack. I believe females will be receptive some time before the time is eaxactly right but usually they can store the sperm until the eggs are at the proper stage. [ Hide Replies ]
