Grandparents...........now that is interesting. I think my animals are 4 or 5 years old. Meaning the parents are at least 8. Grandparents 12 years or more and breeding. Not surpricing with the more cold tolerant species. I had a mandarina I got as wc adult in 1981 and lived and bred untill a few years back. My oldest longissimus is turning 20 next year. Anyway very interesting to find their origin. Any informations about their habitat and so? Pictures even better.
Locality forms of scalaris are probably not in the hobby any more. At least I don`t know of any. Just to find animals has been difficult. I sold mine in 1992 after a divorce and has been looking for them since. Finally I got 3,2 from Spain.
Sacha Korell spread them in USA some years ago. I wonder what has happened to them since then
