My baby boa season has FINALLY started. My 2001 "poss" het albino female dropped her litter on 6/4/08 (about a week passed her due date based on 105 days POS). There were 15 live babies and 12 slugs. I hate slugs. I bought her as a 66% het albino back in 2001. Last year, this same girl dropped a premie liter (none lived) also with about 12 or so slugs. I couldn't prove her out last year because I only bred her with a normal male. This year she did MUCH better.

I bred her to a 100% het albino male and what do you know. Here's what I find last week.



I'm really glad she proved out, and more importantly that she pulled thru ok despite all the slugs she had. Here's another pic of some of the albinos.



Sadly, one of the albinos passed away a couple days ago. I really don't know what happened because all the albinos looked fine except for 1 or 2 that had slightly larger bellies full of yolk compared to the rest of the litter.

There was one pretty cool thing I did find in the litter. I think she there some twin albinos in the bunch that obviously didn't make passed early on in their development. I'm pretty certain they were in the same sack and attached to the same yolk. Here's pic along with the slugs.



The "twins" are on the bottom of the pic. It's pretty graphic, but you can clearly see that they were albino. I thought it was pretty cool. We'll see. Maybe I'll get some twin albinos in a year or two after she gets some good weight back on her.

There were also 2 normal babies that were very TINY compared to their brothers and sisters. I'll get a good comparison shot to show you all the differences in sizes. One of these is REALLY tiny compared to the rest.

Anyway, just your everyday, run-of-the-mill albinos. But cool thing is I got to prove out a 66%er, which I got for free I might add when I bought my male albino back in 2001.
