happen...

Ana (blotchie) is due to lay soon so I put her in a her laying tub today a s I often do and was gone for most of the day bringing stuff to my new place. One of my cats likes to watch them and "chase" them thru the glass. Because of this I put a t-shirt over the front and top to block her view but of course left plenty of screen open so her light could hit her rock and she had plenty of air.

I came home to the screen op off, the shirt on the ground and no Ana. They are in my office and I am in the middle of a move. This is by far the most crowded and messiest of the rooms right now. I have baseboard heat so if she got down into the piping/walls she'll never get back up. I looked under things and what I DID find was her tail - most of it. I would say it is probably 75-80% of it. The break looks fresh but I don't know if Lita got her, bit her and she is suffering somewhere, did she bring her downstairs, chase her into another room? I am so distraught. I am just sick.

I moved the litter box to another room and in case Ana is still in here and alive the cats are banished. I am hoping maybe I can coax her out to bask in the morning, I doubt I will see or here her tonight. She is not eating much these days so food or water won't be a big draw and there are SO many places for her to hide. I am more worried that she is hurt somewhere. She is gravid and not far from laying. I am so mad at myself for not keeping her in the big tank or securing the top with a rock or something. I was gone much longer than I thought, too and Lita probably got antsy and decided to see what Ana was up to. She has been in here before and this has never happened. I am so worried about her.....
