I agree with Lar, outcrossing has diminished the instance of genetic problems in the Kahl line albinos.

I've seen it posted many times that the Kahl Albino gene is "weak" IMO that is simple BS, the gene is just fine and has been propogated into thousands of boas. If the gene itself were "weak" then you'd have the same problems with het to het breedings where the actual albinos would have a high percentge of deformities.

I believe the real problem lies with other defective gene(s) that were present in one or more of the original or early on breeding stock. That gene(s) was propogated along with the albino gene in the required inbreeding to get the albino trait to express. I have read many people having decent success with breeding albinos from different sources that are at least somewhat unrelated.
