Posted by: DoctorCosmonaut at Thu Jun 19 16:59:26 2008 [ Email Message ] [ Show All Posts by DoctorCosmonaut ] So I’ve had my Red for 2-3 weeks now and she has been wheezing on and off… When I first purchased her I had her in a 45 gal Rubbermaid, and was able to keep it fairly humid (despite its open top)… while she was in this environment she did a lot of wheezing and it seemed hard for her to breathe… Soon after I moved back home (I go to college and move home during the summer), and she was stuck in the same container, but in a much dryer environment (the room didn’t hold humidity) while I was building her new enclosure… her wheezing stopped during this time… But now that she is in her new enclosure (over 12 sq ft) and the humidity is back up she seems to be having the same breathing problems… does that make any sense? I know she was raised in too dry of an environment (look at my intro post to understand), but isn’t it healthier that I put her in a more humid one? |
