Wow, interesting lizard, never seen a hypo before.
I assume a hypomelanistic lizard also would lack a dark peritoneum (outer lining of its "guts" which in a normally-colored lizard would help protect its organs from UV damage.
I can't remember if collaris normally has a black peritoneum, but if so, how does a hypomelanistic sun-loving lizard cope with the higher risk of UV damage? Maybe that explains why I haven't seen one in the wild.  ----- Chris McMartin
