Let me start by saying Brian & Lori have been more than fair to me over the past 12 years since I bought my first carpet python from them. Brian has helped mentor me and always given me great advise on breeding these balls and helping me through tough times such as these. Enough kissing BHB's butt, LOL! This female hypo was purchased as a female that had always developed follicles but never ovulated or produced. Now, I am far from a big breeder but do have 200 BP's and put down 25-30 clutches a year. I have seen my share of slugs and sick snakes, but never anything like this. She developed follicles nicely, ovulated, shed, and nested up right on schedule. Then on her due date she laid 2 very hard, calcified follicles that were most likely from past breeding seasons and about 7mm in size. I have had girls lay 30-35 days post ovulation shed, so I was not too concerned. Over the next few weeks though it was obvious she was in distress and showing no sign of improvement. I have never had a female BP be eggbound and know it is extremely uncommon. Hopefully for the snakes sake (as well as Damian) she will pull though and live to try again! I am sure Damian will keep everybody updated.
