Also, they're guaranteed to produce at least 50 uW/cm2 UVB at 12" after a year of average viv use. That's a reasonable amount, and I think all of my many Mega Rays that are that old were still producing more than that. It's best to get a meter, but if you don't have one, you're probably safe to use it for the whole year. And if you DO have any problems, Bob is really great to work with.
