You will see that alot of people here do alot of differnt things. I for one do not move my snakes out of thier cages when I feed. I do not use hooks on all of my animals either. The ones I do use I only use the hook to let them know I'm coming in to get them. Not sure if this answered your question but by leaving your snake in the cage for feeding and using the hook only to remove out of the cage may help your situation. Just my point of view.
