I am not completely up to speed on the Texas issues. I do know the road hunting law was government at it's worst. I road cruised the Del Rio area many times in the late 60's and early 70's and had great times. This was a totally harmless activity and to have this stopped by absurded legislation is a travesty. I know there are other issues in Texas, but the road hunting problem was the only thing I focused on.
I don't know why PIJAC did not get involved in Texas. I do know they wrote a very well thought out letter in response to the request for information on Boas and Pythons by Fish and Wildlife. They were also invited to give their thoughts on this new invasive species legislation, and were the only panelist that made sense. The others just fell in line with what it looks like the government wants to do.
Along with letter writing by individuals, I think they are our best shot at having some voice.
