What's the best incbating media for eggs

I received my first eggs last night and I've been researching this morning but there seems to be a few different ideas between regular sand (moistened) or perlite/vermiculite.



So what do you guys use and why? I have them in the moist sand they were laid in right now but they are "setting" on the top of the sand and I'm wondering if I should half bury them in the media (sand or perlite)?

P.S. The eggs are plump and firm. I didn't realize my cell phone camera didn't focus.
