Many seem to think perlite is really great, others use vermiculite and like that. And a few have used the dampened soil/sand mixture.



I personally have always used the vermiculite, as far as if you bury eggs or what... I press my thumb into the substrate to create an indentation down in, and place the egg in there kind of cradling it, but not covering it.
